Built-In Decoders

Dolby Pro Logic: Provides 4 channels of surround sound: front left & right, center, & surround.
Dolby Pro Logic II: Converts Dolby Pro Logic into a 5.1 channel system
Dolby Digital: Provides 5.1 surround sound channels: front left & right, center, surround left & right, and subwoofer. Which is commonly used on DVDs & HDTV
DTS: Same as Dolby Digital but with less compression giving a better sound quality
DTS-ES: Same as DTS but provides 6.1 surround channels and gives 360 degree sound.
DTS-ES Matrix: 5.1 channel format with a 6th channel matrixed into the left & right surround.

Power Source

NiMH: Nickel metal hydride: High-capacity rechargeable batteries.
NiCd: Nickel cadmium: Common rechargeable batteries. NiCds have roughly half the capacity of NiMH cells.
Lithium: Are non-rechargeable batteries roughly 2,100 mAh, or better. Long shelf life up to ten years.
Alkaline: The most common types of non-rechargeable batteries.
Rechargeable alkaline: An 1,800 mAh alkaline battery that can be recharged, 12 to 25 times.

Remote Control A device that can control same brand or Multi-Brand devices from a remote location. Advanced controllers operates same-brand audio gear, A/V, & gives users access to advanced systems operation. Basic controllers operates same-brand audio gear, A/V. Universial controllers operates gear from many brands, or Learning, which learns codes from other remotes.
